Revised COVID-19 Policies

Hello US Taekwondo families and students,

We hope all of you have been staying safe and healthy!

Our COVID-19 policy was put in place back in May of 2020 to help with minimize the spread of this disease and help protect the vulnerable of our population. We believe we have done an exceptional job (Knock on wood and fingers crossed that this continues).

With the recent introduction of COVID-19 vaccines we have decided to update our COVID-19 policy. All adults and teens from the age of 16 have now had the opportunity to be fully vaccinated in the state of Florida. Soon, teens from 12-15 will have that option as well. Today, it was announced that Pfizer is seeking approval for ages 2-11 as well.

Getting vaccinated is a personal choice just as receiving the flu shot is. We are not requiring anyone to receive the vaccine to be able to train here but since everyone now has that opportunity we are altering and updating our COVID-19 policy.

Currently we are softening our requirements and beginning on June 7th, we will further soften them even more.

Some of the new changes are below:

  1. Our lobby is fully open.
  2. Water fountains are now open.
  3. Parents or companions that are not entering our facility are no longer required to have their temperatures taken.
  4. Temperature checks are done in the school and it is a self-check with supervision.
  5. Face masks covering both mouth and nose are still required for anyone in the building (vents of any kind on a mask is not allowed).
  6. Until further notice, masks are mandatory.

Please do not treat sneezing or coughing as allergies. For the safety of all our students, please assume you have a virus and cough or sneeze into your elbow and not just into the mask or hands…yes, even with the face mask on.

We are going to do our best to make sure everyone is and feels safe while providing the best possible training for all under the circumstances. As we move forward, we may remove or add additional rules or procedures in order to stay in compliance and to adjust to whatever the current situation is.

This policy is subject to change at anytime.

Sincerely,
The US Taekwondo Institute Staff
